Pledge Class: Gamma Theta
Shayauna Mellin was born and raised in Rancho Cucamonga, California. She was an active volleyball player and Link Crew Leader in her high school years. Shayauna is in her fourth year at San Diego State, and is studying Marketing. She found Delta Sigma Pi in her first semester of college and served as President of the Gamma Theta pledge class. Shayauna held the position of Vice President of Alumni Relations for the Iota Pi chapter in Spring '16. She then went on to sit on the Fundraising committee and was a volunteer pledge assistant in Fall '16. Shaya also served as Vice President Pledge Education for Spring '17 for the Gamma Lambda pledge class. She has also been actively involved with the Fraternity nationally as the Brotherhood Games Chair for 2018 & 2019. Currently, Shayauna is serving as the President of the Iota Pi chapter. Shayauna has been volunteering across the state of California for over ten years. Shayauna recently spent a semester studying abroad at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand during Fall 2017. Shayauna used the remainder of 2017 to backpack through New Zealand's North and South Island. The best experience Shaya had while abroad was bungee jumping off the Auckland Harbor Bridge! In addition to her volunteer work, she had been actively competing in beauty pageants for eight years and promotes her platform of women in business. While living in San Diego, Shayauna worked as a performer for SeaWorld San Diego and as a Social Media Manager and Sales and Community Manager at Inflatable Design Group. In her spare time, Shayauna enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
