Service goes beyond each and every one of us and it is a way to give back. This can be done in so many ways whether large actions or small acts of kindness. There are so many ways service can be incorporated in your daily life and through these monthly newsletters, we hope to show you how. ~ Serena Santoro (DSP Iota Pi VP of Community Service)

"Dance Marathon at SDSU is the largest, student-run philanthropic movement at San Diego State University. DM at SDSU's mission is to provide emotional and financial support for the children and families of Rady Children's Hospital battling life-threatening illnesses. DM participants dance to help raise funds and awareness that goes towards supporting the needs of local children. These funds have gone to support research, training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The efforts culminate in a weekend of a no-sitting, no-sleeping, Dance Marathon! The event takes place in Montezuma Hall in the Conrad Presbys Aztec Student Union and brings together over 2,000 people, including dancers and volunteers. In 2020, DM at SDSU raised a record-breaking $365,221.54 and 100% of the money raised went to RCH!
Since 2015, DM has raised over $1 million for Rady Children's! The money raised has helped countless families cope with the numerous challenges, all the money DM at SDSU raises goes directly to the hospital and helps support the needs of children and families during their fight."
