Katrina Hizon was born and raised in San Diego, California where she graduated from Scripps Ranch High School. She is 1 of 22 students in SDSU's class of 2021 of approximately 8,000 to receive the Merit Scholarship. From the very beginning of college, Katrina found herself seizing every opportunity that came her way. Her freshman year involvements included pledging Delta Sigma Pi, working with Zura Hall Council, and serving on Residence Hall Association. This year she serves as the Vice President of Finance for Delta Sigma Pi, Vice President of Academics for the Weber Honors College Student Society, an SDSU Ambassador, and an Academic Mentor at Zura Hall. In January 2019, Katrina completed a short term study abroad program at the Berlin School of Economics and Law, where she took a course in International Business Strategy and discovered more about a place she had never been before. She hopes to continue exploring new places in the future. Katrina's current goals include studying abroad during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. With a double major in International Business and Economics, she hopes to live and work internationally post graduation. In the meantime, catch her scarfing down bowls of ramen on Convoy St. or figure skating at SDIA.
