Pledge Class: Gamma Nu
Julia is a sophomore majoring in Management. Born and raised in Porto Alegre, Brazil she came to the Unites States looking for the great opportunities offered here. She decided to pursue her education abroad after her participation in a Math competition in Lucknow, India and realized she had to go to a place where she could experience other cultures in her daily life, what better place than San Diego State for her to do that? She pledged Delta Sigma Pi Spring 2018 as part of Gamma Nu Pledge Class, during the pledging process she was able to meet great people and develop her professional skills as well as working with the Fundraising committee. Julia is also part of the International Peer Mentor program, mentoring first year international students that need help in adapting to their new lives in San Diego. The Brazilian Association of San Diego State, where she serves as Director of Events, is another part of her life on campus, seeking to make the Brazilian culture more known by other students and faculty. You can also find her working at SDSU’s International Admission Office, where she assists International Students with their applications to San Diego State! The International Student Association is another way she found to get more involved on campus and with the international community, this semester she is serving as External Relations Officer for the organization. In her free time she likes to hang out with friends, watch movies/series, play sports or just look for free events around campus. In the near future she wants to study abroad to be able to learn about other cultures. However, after graduation in 2021 she plans to work with talent acquisition and recruitment somewhere in the entertainment field since is one of the areas that interests her the most.
