Jill Chen was raised in Newbury Park, California where she was heavily involved in competitive dance. She started at a local dance studio at the age of 5 and continued to perform until she was 15. During her sophomore year of high school, she served as the Publicist for the Random Acts of Kindness Club. She also participated in other volunteer services such as Rotary International and Hands on Earth. Giving back to the community has always been something that Jill has strived to do. Growing up close to Los Angeles, Jill was always fascinated by fashion and the fast-growing trends that surround the industry. She grew up reading fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Vanity Fair. When she was applying for colleges, she knew that she wanted to do something in the realm of business. Her experience as a Club Publicist helped her realize her passion for marketing and advertising. Attending San Diego State University has been such a great decision both for her personal and professional life. Jill is currently a first-year Marketing major with an emphasis in Professional Selling and Sales Management. She decided to pledge Delta Sigma Pi in her first semester because she wanted to find a community on campus that would help her meet other motivated students in the world of business. Jill hopes to someday work for luxury fashion houses such as Yves Saint Laurent or Louis Vuitton. In her free time, Jill loves to explore new healthy food places, going on late night adventures and watching sunsets.
