"Great things never came from comfort zones."
Major: Marketing: Integrated Marketing Communications
Pledge Class: Gamma Nu
Originally from San Jose, CA, Brian was always interested in innovation and design. Growing up, he knew that being able to create things was his forte – gourmet meals out of top ramen or aesthetic profiles on Myspace. These early experiences made it clear that media design would take a prominent presence in his life. He went to community college and got his Associates Degree in Science: Business Administration. During this, he worked part time at a startup poké shop, Super Poké Bros, becoming a lead and designing their menus, logos, flyers, and advertisements within one year of working. He also created a project for The Clorox Company, making a video that highlighted diversity within its employees. After these creative experiences, he knew that Integrated Marketing Communications was the major for him. Wanting to branch further from his comfort zone, he moved out of San Jose and transferred to San Diego State University in the fall semester of 2017. After, he pledged for Delta Sigma Pi in spring 2018, and was Vice President of Marketing for the Gamma Nu pledge class. Now, he is currently the Director of Marketing for the 2019 spring semester. In the future, Brian hopes to work with the Food Network, HGTV, film, or music industry. In his free time, he likes to cook, find new music, go to festivals, workout, and go on late night food adventures.
