Aubrey Benito was born in the Philippines and lived there for 7 years before moving to Chicago, IL. She speaks two Filipino dialects which makes English her third language. Being an active member in her community has always been an important part of who she is. In high school, she was the Treasurer of the National Honor Society, Senior Editor for the yearbook, as well as a Senior Board member for her class. Her senior year of high school she competed in a shark tank like competition with a team and won $10,000 for developing a product that dries wet phones. She is currently a second year majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources. Her goal in life is to become a social entrepreneur and create businesses catered around social issues, whether it be local or international. Her first year at SDSU, along with pledging DSP, she got involved in Associated Students, and the Asian American Pacific Islander community. Aubrey is a Resident Advisor for the Business Learning Community in Zura Hall and the Student Diversity Commission Representative for Associated Students. As an RA, she assists 45 first years in their transition into university life, plan and execute various social and educational programs throughout the year, and work the front desk maintaining the safety of the building. In AS, her position entails collaborating and communicating with the cultural organizations on campus in order to ensure they are represented here at SDSU. She works closely with the AS executive board as well as university faculty and staff to promote diversity and inclusion. Aubrey enjoys listening to her many many Spotify playlists, going to the beach, and finding new coffee shops.
