Alexis Juarez was born in the Los Angeles area where she attended West Covina High School. Throughout her four years she was involved in various organizations such as AVID, the Cheerleading Team, and ASB where she was able to begin her leadership journey. Alexis graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2016 while holding leadership positions as ASB Treasurer and Cheerleading Captain. After high school she made the decision to attend San Diego State University to stay close to home, but also having the ability to move out and experience life on her own. Having past leadership positions in Finance, she decided to major in that field; however, along the way she switched to International Business, realizing that her passion comes from the Latin American culture she grew up in. As she wanted to get more involved in college, she decided to pledge Delta Sigma Pi during her fall semester of sophomore year and held the position of Vice President of Finance for her pledge class. She has been heavily involved with Delta Sigma Pi in various leadership positions such as Director of Fundraising and a member of the pledge committee for Gamma Xi during the Fall 2018 semester. Additionally, she served as Vice President of Pledge Education (Pledge Mom) during the Spring 2019 semester for the Gamma Omicron pledge class - she has 17 beautiful children. Lastly, for the current Spring 2020 semester, she is serving as our Chapter's President. Aside from leadership positions, she has taken an active role by becoming a Big for Daniela Braslavski and Emily Crimi, a GrandBig for Sabrina Steffen, and a Great-GrandBig for Yash Khanchandani. Aside from Delta Sigma Pi, she has been involved in the International Business Society and the Hispanic Business Student Association. During the Fall 2019 semester, she studied abroad in Santiago, Chile at the Universidad del Desarrollo to further expand her knowledge of the Latin American culture and all it has to offer. In regards to internships, she was an International Affairs Intern at the San Diego Mayor’s Office during the Summer of 2019, and was a Consulting Intern while studying abroad in Chile at Grupo Nexo Franquicia - the #1 consulting firm in franchising in Latin America. Lastly, she is currently interning at Ascent Student Loans as a Marketing Intern in Downtown San Diego. Post-graduation, Alexis aspires to travel the world to teach English to children less fortunate for a couple years. Outside of school, Alexis enjoys exploring different places to eat, traveling, yoga, going to concerts, going shopping, and having fun with friends and family!
