Alex Ficorilli is a sophomore at San Diego State who is origionally born and raised in Wallingford, Connecticut. Growing up in a very small, undiverse town is what motivated Alex from a very young age to set big goals in order to exceed past the easy and average life that plagues the suburbs. Growing up, Alex was a very active kid who played many sports including soccer, hockey, baseball, lacrosse, golf, and he obtained a black belt in Kempo Karate after training for nine years. In high school, Alex knew he had to do everything he could to set himself apart from his fellow classmates so that colleges would see he is more than your average kid from the suburbs. That is why he ran for class president his freshman year, and apparently his classmates saw the same leadership qualities he saw in himself becuase they elected him as president for all four years. Along with being class president, Alex was the captain of the Hockey and Lacrosse teams, and president of the debate club. One of Alex's most proud accomplishments was founding the entreprenuership club in his highschool after he realized that entreprenuership was something he was really passionate about and something that was lacking in his school. When looking at colleges, Alex knew he wanted to move as far away from home as possible, and after finding and visiting SDSU he knew this was the perfect home for him. He knew he wanted to get involved somewhere on campus that would benefit his future, and after finding Delta Sigma Pi, he knew this was the perfect community for him. Alex also works for shakesmart, so you may see him at the arc or in the student union whipping up shakes and acai bowls. When he is not in class or working at shakesmart, Alex loves binging shows on Hulu and Netflix, hanging out with his friends and his beloved cat, going to the beach, and ordering late night burritos on postmates.
