Our Purpose
Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.

Social events introduce our members to lifelong friends through a variety of social and networking activities. Our social events allow our members to bond with fellow brothers and gain experiences from people with the same goals and ideals. Some of our past events have included themed social gatherings, Chapter and regional retreats, regional and national level conferences, leadership training schools, and trips during holiday breaks.
By having opportunities to bond with fellow brothers on a local, regional, and national level, our members receive networking opportunities that last a lifetime. In addition, the experiences gained from these activities prove beneficial during the college years and beyond. With over 50 alumni networks, our brothers have a chance to make a difference even after graduation.

Professionalism is an integral part of the Delta Sigma Pi experience, and our brothers succeed at embodying the principles of young business professionals. Our brothers strive to excel in the business world through academic achievement, work experience, career networking, exclusive job and internship listings, and leadership development.
Throughout the academic year, the Iota Pi Chapter participates in various activities that are used as tools to enhance the professional etiquette of our members. Over the years, we have hosted several events including resume writing workshops, tips on interviewing, business seminars, corporate tours and most frequently, professional guest speakers.

The Iota Pi Chapter strives to create well-rounded members by encouraging service to our local community. The National Fraternity has awarded our Chapter the Most Outstanding Community Service Award numerous times since our inception in 1979. In the past we have worked with Special Olympics, Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters, San Diego Food Bank, Junior Achievement, People for Trees, San Diego Food Drive, and other community improvement organizations.
We are not only about business; we care about the community we live in and want to see it grow and prosper. The Iota Pi Chapter contributes to San Diego by lending a helping hand where it is needed.
