Pledge Class: Gamma Nu
Phil LoPresto is originally from Ellicott City, Maryland where he attended Howard High School. He grew up playing many organized sports including ice hockey, lacrosse, and soccer. Having most enjoyed ice hockey, he played for 15 years and won two Maryland State Championships in 2013 and 2014. Phil also lived in Hawaii as a child, where he developed a passion for surfing, paddling, and nature. He credits this time in Hawaii for eventually leading him to attend school in San Diego because of its similarities. At SDSU, Phil dedicated his time as a member of the Men's Club Rowing Team from 2015 to 2018, developing many important skills and habits that would prove useful in his college career, as well as meeting some of his closest friends. After studying abroad in Mannheim, Germany during the Fall of 2017, Phil decided to challenge himself professionally by pledging Delta Sigma Pi as part of the Gamma Nu Pledge Class. In the Summer of 2018, he interned at Lindsay & Brownell, LLP, gaining experience in accounting and audit procedures of not-for-profit organizations and 401Ks. Phil is currently a senior in the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy at SDSU and plans to continue his education there as he pursues a Master’s of Science in Accountancy. Phil has accepted an offer to intern with Ernst & Young, LLP in the Summer of 2019 in their audit and assurance department, then study and sit for the CPA exam the following Spring. After he has completed his internship with Ernst & Young, Phil will start full-time as a staff auditor for either Lindsay & Brownell or Ernst & Young. Phil intends to remain in San Diego after finishing his MSA in December 2019. You will most likely find him surfing, or in the library, studying.
