Michy Flores grew up in Tehachapi, CA-a small mountain town known as "Land of The Four Seasons". There, she served various leadership roles in organizations such as Future Business Leaders of America, Safe School Ambassadors and the Fine Arts Club. She received the Coaches Award for her JV Girls Basketball Team and was the Coach's Assistant for the Frosh/soph Team while also serving as Teen Miss Tehachapi for her community. As involved as she was, it wasn't enough. Seeking more opportunities, Michy moved to San Diego two days after graduating from Tehachapi Highschool figuring out all things associated with school and employment all on her own. Her college education began at San Diego Mesa College where she was recognized for excellence on the Dean's List and as the Vice President of the EOP Club for helping students make life and career plans. In the Spring of 2014, Michy took a trip to her family's hometown, El Salvador, which ended up becoming more than just a vacation. During her time there, a young girl walked up to her and asked if she could purchase one of her handmade bracelets, just so that she could afford to buy a meal for dinner. That was a moment of enlightenment and the formation of what would become Michy's future career. While abroad, she realized how high the rate of inflation was, yet, noticed the flourishing amounts of agricultural goods. She figured that the best way to bring back some of El Salvador to the U.S. and vice versa, would be to base her career off imports and exports. Having decided to major in International Business, Michy hopes to improve her family's home country economy one trade at a time. Michy has always found joy in becoming involved with groups and organizations that give back. For that reason, she decided to join Delta Sigma Pi—a prestigious coed business Fraternity—filled with likeminded individuals, who too, want to make a difference. Michy feels that with the endless commitments, professionalism, and brotherhood being experienced within the Fraternity, success is limitless. Aside from Delta Sigma Pi, she is also involved in Scholars Without Borders and the Aztec Mentor Program. At the times when she’s not particularly trying to change the world while being professional… she enjoys going to music festivals, concerts, art museums, road trips, working out, DIY projects, and eating lots of tasty foods such as: poke, ramen, fish tacos, froyo and more!
