Kate was born and raised in the East Bay of Northern California. In high school, Kate earned above a 4.0 grade point average and was involved in many campus clubs. She has continued this hard work through her third year at San Diego State University, and is now studying Integrated Marketing Communications with a minor in Television Film and New Media. The art of film and the science of business create a unique balance as she enjoys working behind the scenes and studying consumer behavior. She is an advocate for small businesses as she has worked for a family-owned gym, a local indoor- amusement park, and small business pet store. Over the summer she earned an internship at the San Diego Zoo where she learned about non-profit business and the importance of conserving wildlife. She now interns for a major marketing firm, Allied Integrated Marketing, where she organizes advance movie screenings and publicity events for movies coming out in theaters. Kate has been a dedicated officer for Delta Sigma Pi -- she was the Special Event coordinator for the Gamma Eta pledge class, Vice President of Marketing spring 2016, then the Senior Vice President for the Iota Pi chapter. She hopes to create her own student film by the time she graduates, and to continue working in the business side of the entertainment industry. She enjoys watching critically acclaimed movies, visiting national parks, eating well prepared food, getting As on tests, and petting kittens.
