"Great things never came from comfort zones."
Major: Marketing: Integrated Marketing Communications
Pledge Class: Gamma Nu
Originally from San Jose, CA, Brian was always interested in innovation and design. Growing up, he knew that being able to create things was his forte – gourmet meals out of top ramen, aesthetic profiles on Myspace, or lyric videos with MapleStory characters. These early experiences made it clear that media design would take a prominent presence in his life. He became vice president in high school for two years, participating in many extracurricular activities such as photography, dance, Japanese, working out, leadership, event planning, and media editing. After high school, he went to community college and got his Associates Degree in Science: Business Administration. During this, he worked part time at a startup poké shop, Super Poké Bros, designing their menus, logos, flyers, and advertisements, and also became a lead and trained new employees within one year of working. He also created a project for The Clorox Company, making a video that highlighted diversity within its employees. After these creative experiences, he knew that Integrated Marketing Communications was the major for him. Wanting to branch further from his comfort zone, he moved out of San Jose and transferred to San Diego State University in the fall semester of 2017. After, he pledged for Delta Sigma Pi in spring 2018, and was Vice President of Marketing for the Gamma Nu pledge class. In the future, Brian hopes to work with the Food Network, HGTV, film, or music industry. In his free time, he likes to cook, explore Target, find new music, work out, create films, go to festivals, and go on late night food adventures. His ultimate food go-tos are milk tea and sushi.
